What is CueSift?

CueSift is an online YouTube subtitle extractor for public watch videos and Shorts. It checks a submitted URL for an available YouTube caption track, converts that track into timestamped text, and opens the result in an editor. When a usable caption track is unavailable, CueSift can create a speech-transcription draft if that processing path is available for the task. Users can review wording and timing, search the transcript, and export TXT, SRT, or VTT without reprocessing the same completed task. CueSift does not bypass private, members-only, deleted, or region-restricted videos, and it does not read text burned into video frames. As of August 4, 2026, YouTube is the only production-ready platform integration; the other platforms listed on the site are planned. CueSift is an independent product and is not affiliated with YouTube or Google.
